Develop Your Entrepreneurs Mindset

Entrepreneurs Path

'An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.' -Benjamin Franklin

You are an entrepreneur with a unique view of the world around you.

Your success and failure hinges on the investments you make in knowledge and understanding.

You may have an entrepreneurs mindset with creativity, drive, concentration, and determination, but you are unique, and your mindset should be unique also.

There is no question that people who are successful online have similar attributes; they have a particular view and a complementary thought process that results in success. What you may not know is that the publicized entrepreneurs mindset is just the beginning; it is a great start but it is too general to be truly effective.

It doesn't matter who you are, how much experience you have or what industry you work in, your entrepreneurs mindset is as unique as you are. Yes, you should definitely take a look at what others have written about the mindset of an entrepreneur, but use it as a starting point or a template for developing your personal mindset that will eventually bring you success as an entrepreneur.

As an entrepreneur earning a living online, there is always a foundational mindset, a focus and drive that kicks out ideas that become projects and then the unique mindset tailored specifically for the current project begins to emerge.

At the beginning of every new project I like to do a little prep exercise using the Golden 4 Influencing Factors (IFs).

I ask:

What is the purpose?

The question requires me to answer why I am doing what I am doing. The project must be one or more of the Golden 4: Interesting, Entertaining, Educational and Profitable.

I must identify the motivators that are driving my decisions and actions.

Someone that is motivated by financial gain and curiosity will need a slightly different mindset than one who is motivated by charity and entertainment.

I like to really dig deep into the specific influences for each project. Financial gain is a lazy answer. What is it that you desire from your financial gain? Dig as deep as needed until you get at the bare bones of what it is you are after.

If you do not know where you are going, how will you know if/when you get there or how to get there for that matter?

Develop your entrepreneurs mindset on the basic principles of drive, focus, determination and creativity, then customize it based on where you are going, how you are going to get there and what you are going to do when you arrive.

Use the Golden 4 IFs: Interesting, Entertaining, Educational, and Profitable as a foundation for your actions and a measurement for your results.

So many people make the choice to work from home, start a business, and earn an income online simply because they want money and freedom of choice. Sure these are acceptable reasons, but if you really want to be successful (I am sure you do), then you need to dig at the core reasons for your actions. Identify the core Influencing Factors that are driving you.

When you truly identify the purpose, the influences that drive you, a path to your destination begins to reveal itself and you can develop your custom entrepreneurs mindset that will accomplish all that you set out to do.

Be an IF and change the world.
